Pray for Israeli Ministry: The Hamaayan Congregation

Member Monday / By

Kehilat Hamaayan is a Messianic non-denominational congregation comprised of Jewish and Gentile believers in Yeshua (Jesus) located in Kfar Saba, Israel (north of Tel Aviv). Founded in 1989, the congregation meets weekly to worship in spirit and in truth, study and proclaim the Word of God, and serve one another.

Congregational leaders, Tony and Orna Sperandeo started Kehilat Hamaayan 27 years ago when God called Tony to Israel to bring the good news to the Jewish people. The meaning of Hamaayan is “the well spring,” which is expressed through their vision is to plant congregations and a school of ministry to train young people to know the Word of God.

As a well-established community, their purpose has always been to give glory to our Heavenly Father by serving Him and their fellow men, proclaiming the good news of salvation to Israel and its Arab neighbors, and following in the footsteps of His Son, Yeshua.

As a congregation, they keep these things central:

  1. The Gospel
  2. A heart for Israel
  3. A heart for the unborn

Projects and work:

PRAYER | Prayer meetings over live stream every first Thursday of the month. These are available for anyone to join online.

OUTREACH | Reaching the lost and poor by bringing the good news through outreach and humanitarian aid, which they carry out through their food and clothing distribution center.

YOUTH | Preparing the next generation to be strong men and women in Yeshua through leadership and discipleship training, social involvement, camps and other activities for young people.

MOTHERS | Ministering the compassion of the Lord to widows, orphans, and single mothers in both their spiritual and practical needs.

NATIONS | Bringing national awareness of the need to stand for Israel both now and in the end of times.

CAREGIVERS | Raise up a congregation in Tel Aviv for those who care for the elderly (caregivers) in Israel. Three years ago, God put this vision on their hearts when Tony and his congregation began meeting with caregivers. They are continuing to believe this ministry will grow and become more effective.

RECONCILIATION | Ministering reconciliation between Arabs and Jews through a congregational initiative called Kingdom First. This involves Arab brothers, some from Muslim backgrounds, coming to know the Lord and the reality of the one new man, and ultimately ministering together, Jew and Arab.

Kehilat Hamaayan is built on the message of Isaiah 61:1-3:

“The Ruach of Adonai Elohim is on me,
because Adonai has anointed me
to proclaim Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound,
to proclaim the year of Adonai’s favor
and the day of our God’s vengeance,
to comfort all who mourn
to console those who mourn in Zion,
to give them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise
for the spirit of heaviness,
that they might be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of Adonai,
that He may be glorified.”

“The gospel is a life and death issue.” – Pastor Tony Sperandeo
