Combating modern-day slavery with innovative solutions

There are more slaves today than at any other time in history. Every year, some 2.5 million people become victims of human trafficking.

In Israel today over 12,000 men, women and children are involved in the sex-industry. A recent poll indicated that 76% would like to leave, but feel trapped with no option of escape.

In a new joint venture with the Israeli government, Hope Center Israel has developed a 24-month training program that assists individuals to leave the sex industry. Established to end exploitation this venture was launched in 2021. Course participants, both female and male survivors are connected with new employers in the open labour market and are accompanied by our staff in their new job.

Hope Center Israel makes a difference by repurposing high-quality sporting materials such as kite-surfing kites, yacht sails, and parachutes into unique bags. Through the sale of each bag, they provide and create more job opportunities for those in need.

About

Hope Center Israel

Hope Center Israel has been working for years to free people from forced labour and forced prostitution. Their social enterprise KitePride in Tel Aviv creates safe jobs, empowering and employing survivors of the sex industry and leading them into a free, independent, and dignified life.

Both KitePride employees and training course participants including their children are sustainably supported by Hope Center Israel’s sponsorship funds. Every single dollar counts. Actually it is matched and doubled by the Israeli government. Hope Center Israel is responsible for 51% of the cost.

Help Hope Center Israel reach their goal to integrate 100 survivors of the sex industry into Israel’s labour workforce within the first three years of the program.
